Express Entry – Canadian Experience Class

You may be eligible to apply in Canadian Experience Class under the Express Entry program if you have completed one year eligible full time or equivalent skilled work experience while living in Canada (outside Quebec) in the last 3 years on an authorized work permit. You can apply even if you are presently residing outside Canada.

Under Express Entry, there is a provision wherein Government can decide to draw only those applicants from the pool of candidates who are qualified under Canadian Experience Class (CEC) only. They can easily do this by changing the hierarchy of the three programs that come under Express Entry and making CEC as the top priority of a particular draw.

Once you are invited to apply under Canadian Experience Class after the initial draw from Express Entry pool of candidates, it is just passing or failing kind of process. This program does not involve any point based criteria.
