21 – Age of Dependent Children

Many do not know that the age of dependent Children is no longer 18, it is in fact 21!

Dependent children of applicants applying for Canadian Immigration are now individuals 21 years or younger. During the application process, parents can add them onto their forms to ensure immigrating to Canada together. The age limit for dependent children in the past was only 18, making this change a remarkable benefit for many families and loved ones.  

Other Benefits:

  • Your siblings may be eligible to be added as dependent children when you apply for your parent’s sponsorship.  
  • Students who are studying in college or university can also be considered as dependent children when their parents apply under the Investor and Business Entrepreneur program.
